Move Weebly Website to WordPress

In the past I dismissed ideas from my clients about the possibilities of moving their websites from Weebly to WordPress.

My dismissal of such inquiries had nothing to do with the effectiveness of WordPress which is quite obvious.

My primary reason for such dismissals were centered around the understanding that compared to Weebly, WordPress was much harder to use especially by clients who were/are very particular about being able to manage, edit and update the websites on their own.

I was against those intentions because it went contrary to what they (client) kept requesting for which was to help then build a website that they can easily manage and update on their own.

Why Weebly When there is WordPress?

The question over the years has always been, why use Weebly over WordPress?

The one answer we kept receiving from our clients is that being able to manage and maintain their own websites has been one of the major reasons they preferred Weebly over WordPress even when there are multiple comparisons by different experts that puts WordPress ahead of Weebly in terms of effectiveness.

With these information, I bet the next question on your mind is ‘why then are we suggesting a move from Weebly to WordPress?’

The simple answer is… WordPress is no longer what it was.

Why move from Weebly to WordPress?

A lot has to be said about the fact that even though there are simpler website builders, WordPress has a country-mile lead over all those website builders when comparing the number of websites created across.

The idea that other website builders have either shutdown or have not made any improvements/updates (as in the case of Weebly) for a long period of time has left most of their users in a state of uncertainty prompting them to start looking elsewhere.

And if you are considering moving your website from one platform to another in today’s competitive environment, there’s no better place than WordPress which gives your website all the advantages it needs to compete and succeed, especially as it concerns SEO.

But… there’s still that question of ‘ease of use’

It has already been established that WordPress is better and there are clear evidence to that effect. The reason some users stayed away from WordPress was due to the fact that compared to other website builders such as Weebly, Wix, Squarespace, etc. WordPress was considered more difficult to use by an average person (or a non WordPress expert).

Well… that’s no longer the case 🙂

Hey, great news… things are different now

Over the years, WordPress has improved its user experience from a simple blogging platform with a very complex setup to one of the most brilliantly simplified website builder made possible with the availability of “drag and drop” plugins and of course the introduction of “Blocks” which goes an extra mile to simplify how we build pages, posts, store items, etc. in WordPress.

These overhaul has completely changed the concept of ‘who can use WordPress’, meaning that WordPress is no longer dominated by skilled website designers or experts.

These simplification has created a path for a new WordPress concept which in basic terms say: ‘click to add, drag & drop to build, and click to edit’, etc. and if this sounds familiar to you a Weebly user, it’s because that is the same concept we love about Weebly.

At this point, we have to revisit that question and modifying it to accommodate the new realities on ground, and the question once again is “if WordPress is much better and is just as easy to use, why haven’t you moved to WordPress?”

And this time, the answer is: “I really want to, but I don’t know where to start”.

The good news is… we can help!

We have launched an affordable service to help people move their websites from Weebly to WordPress.

The best part is… because we have advance knowledge and experience with both platforms, we have gone the extra step to further simplify the use of WordPress by implementing similar ‘Drag & Drop’ and ‘Click to Edit’ builder as Weebly’s.
